The Mechanical Services team provides design and advisory services to clients in commercial property, industry, municipal, institutional, recreational and healthcare sectors.
JMG has a 40 year proven track record of success in the traditional areas of air-conditioning, heating and ventilation, but also specialises in the areas of:
- laboratory ventilation and piped systems
- hospital and healthcare specialist ventilation and medical gas systems
- LPG and natural gas systems
- kitchen exhaust hoods
- workshop piped systems
- energy recovery systems
- controlled temperature and humidity environments for data centres and laboratories

Colin Purdon
Principal – Building Services
As Principal – Building Services, Colin is responsible for design and service standards across the JMG group. Colin’s experience extends across all aspects of mechanical engineering and primary responsibilities now extend into systems performance optimisation, design standards, Quality Management System (Manager), Contract Management, Risk Mitigation Education and Training.
With 33 years in the Building Services industry, Colin’s experience has been accumulated in London, Sydney, Adelaide and Vietnam. He has managed a wide variety of projects including the $375M Royal Hobart Hospital redevelopment.

Nick Stolp
Principal – Senior Mechanical Engineer
Nick is responsible for technical design standards and oversees all mechanical design projects.
During his 20 years in the engineering design industry, Nick has worked on a broad range of projects including commercial and institutional buildings, offices, hospitals, laboratories, hotels, shopping centres, theatres, galleries and museums.
Nicholas also heads up JMG’s Integrated Fire Safety Design Team which coordinates compliance and optimization for fire designs across all JMG divisions. He is both a Green Star Accredited Practitioner and NABERS Accredited Assessor.
Significant projects Nick has worked on include the Australian Antarctic Division (Kingston), Hydro Tasmania Cambridge Office and the Hobart Myer Redevelopment.
