Woolworths Sandy Bay
This project saw JMG provide planning and structural design services to Woolworths for a significant renovation of their Sandy Bay store.
The redevelopment involved major internal reconfigurations, a 10% expansion of floor area and installation of new rooftop plant equipment.
JMG’s role in the project included the following:
- preparation of planning submission, addressing all planning policy requirements and key impacts (notably acoustic and traffic impacts)
- representation at the Resource Management and Planning Appeals Tribunal, including mediating a solution with the applicant and appellants
- preparation and documentation of structural designs
- inspections of works during construction period.
Construction was completed approximately eight months after obtaining planning and building approvals and was staged to allow the store to remain open for trading throughout.
